"I am fascinated by the interaction of light with beaten or machined, highly polished stainless steel. My sculptures are often built from reclaimed stainless steel, scavenged from scrapyards – restored & repurposed so that each work is totally unique."
"Sometimes the shape of a found object will suggest a theme or title. I also work with new materials if more appropriate. I like to create large, powerful , visually interesting ,and thought provoking pieces, with a “wow factor” which can act as a centre point for a large room or public space . Sometimes the sculpture becomes a metaphor to explore ideas of a philosophical or more spiritual nature.”
My work is a fusion of traditional metal working techniques with modern technology. I like to create interactive pieces which respond to the curious viewer in unexpected ways,so that What the viewer gets is more than they initially see.
I also make smaller decorative pieces again focussing on the interaction of light with stainless steel - each one being totally unique as it is constructed from scrap materials.
"Light at the end of the Tunnel" - A metaphor for hope.
